biking at the MBT trails in pirongia

                                       Biking!🚲

The hot blood rushes through my veins. My heartbeat quickens as the earth drops way to another hill. I felt special as I reach the end. I had accomplished one round of the kid's track I had a rest, a drink of water and some food, and started off again.

The grey gravel crunched underneath my black shoes and the stones protested, but I ignored the protesting and biked my way to Amanda. Gracefully, I pass beautiful native trees and flowers. Once I reach Amanda, I stare into the deep, dark, muddy track. Gingerly, I make way and push off. I race down the muddy banks like a racehorse in a derby. Slowly, I apply the brakes to examine the track below. The hill below dropped down to a stream sharp corner. I carefully turned the corner, avoiding the bird's sharp cries and taunting beaks. But I wasn’t watching the sight was better than those crows. Then I bike a little longer, and I found a sign that says:

Redwood's kids ahead?

My despair filled my stomach as I bike up the brown leaves trail. I keep biking and I reached the end!

bike reflection 2017 by dareeya

                                              Blue Reflection

                               lesson 1😁

we had our first bike lesson.

On Wednesday we had our first lesson with Claire from the Energize team.First Claire told us to check our wheels if they have air in them, then we check our brakes if they were tight, and finally, we checked our chains if they were stiff or rusty.Once we finished checking our bikes, Claire said to separate into three groups. We had to bike for a little while and gently break in the box. After we had three turns at breaking, we played the BOX GAME.So the year 5's when first in the box. The year 6's were judges.when we were all set, Claire shouted ''GO!" and we all started and we rode anti-clockwise round.I put my foot down so I didn't win. At least I still tried.

                       Bike Reflection
                             lesson 2😁
We are back with Claire biking lesson. We made sure our wheels had air in them, the brakes if they are broken, and lastly the if they are stiff.Once finished, the year 6's to bike the BOX GAME, they biked anti-clockwise too.Once finished, we separated into three groups, tried balancing on your bike but holding it without putting your foot down. When we had three turns, we played the turtle game.(the aim of the game was to ride as slow as you can without putting your foot down.)

                                     Bike Reflection                                                          lesson 3😁

We're back with Claire, we played 2 rounds of the turtle game. I didn't win a round but that's life. Then we separated into 6 groups, 2 groups on one set of cones. The front people bike up or down the side of cones the bike that is going up,h as a cone in their hand and passes it to the opposite side while biking without  throwing.I nailed it because I always ride one-handed while holding something. Our group got 14 passes without dropping the cone. When time was up we said thank you to Claire and we packed our bikes away.

Plush animals

Plush animals.

Image result for shank steak cartoonThe hot summer’s sun sears my bed like a shank of beef. Even though the curtains are closed, the sun was in full swing. At night when the moon is clear, the light burns your body like a white laser. At night is really cold like you are in a snow capsular. When you stand in the sun, the light penetrates you into the air.Lovingly, I hug my extraordinary purple unicorn. The plush fiberglass silk mane softens the hard, lumpy mattress. Cuddling my zoo of plush animals is an

amazing feeling. Weaving and tugging, gently with the silk I plait the unicorns and horses mane and tail.Pulling at the giant ropes of leather, the horses disobey the tugging and refuse to walk. Gazing and gaping at the long necks, the giraffes tower over me calmly.

The sea by dareeya -writing 2017

The Sea
Related imageRoughly pushing, the golden sand screams helplessly as the water shoves carelessly to the scoring sand. The foam soothes calmly as the shells happily greet them. Waving a goodbye, the shells turn and scatter away as the sea collects their friends up gently. Gobbling the unfortunate, the seagulls spring into action, picking greedily at the pipi's shells. Helplessly demanding, the soft muscles babbles their justice and freedom from the bright brittle bills.

Flicking her tail skillfully, the grey shark kicked a drop of water off her tail like she was playing soccer. Jumping for joy, dad manoeuvred the boat to the spot where the shark took the spotlight. Lazily, I took a worn cushion and strained my eyes to see the silver shark almost tipped the boat upside down. Then…POP the magnificent shark landed in the gleaming white boat.Hurriedly, I grab the slippery, slimy fish with delight, and examined the unique features of the miniature shark.

green poem by dareeya

Green
Green is the seasickness on a boat.
It is the jealously for something from a girl.
It is the sick wave of fear that comes by you when something bad going to happen.
It is the disgust of something you don’t like.

Image result for mouldy cheeseGreen is the mouldy cheese at the back of the fridge.
It is the nut inside a young pistachio shell.
It is the crisp apple on the evergreen tree.
It is a packet of sour skittles at the supermarket.

Green is the leaf on a tree.
It is the crunchy grass beneath your feet.
It is the colour of Tui house.
It is a uncleaned fish tank.
It is the algae in an unfiltered pool.

Green is nature and life.

swimming sports by dareeya 2017

                                   swimming sports

The houses, chanting sliced through the coarse morning air.
Mrs Hobbs put her hand up we all stop, and we sit up and she chooses the best house to go into first the swimming pool grounds.
Once we were all seated in our houses, Mrs Hobbs called the 8 and 9-year-olds to the marshalling area.
First, Mrs Hobbs called the 8-year-olds first for one length freestyle.
The nerves caused my stomach to clench even harder as I step up to the diving platform The scream of the whistle silents the whole pool grounds.
The bang of the clappers spring into life, deafening all of us but I spring in first starting with freestyle.                               Once I reach the end, one of the judges came over me and gave me a red cube. I walked over to Debbie and Mrs Cullen and gave them my cube and wrote my name next to 1st place and I walked back to my house.                                                                           Again the scream of the whistle but this time it sounds like a screaming headless chicken!?                                                                It was the boys turn to swim one length freestyle.

I didn’t see who was first, but now the 10,11,12 plus-year-olds one length freestyle.

Once everyone had swum, it was time for breaststroke no 8-year-olds wanted to do breaststroke but 9-year-olds did but I didn’t go.

When everyone did breaststroke it was time for morning tea and we played for 15 minutes.     I love backstroke so I went to the marshalling area.
I didn’t feel any nerve butterflies so I was confident.
Then I hopped in the pool tighten my arms around the bar.                       The clappers bang again and I’m off AGAIN!                                   So I was 2nd but I still got semi-finals and grand finals.
As always, the 10,11.and 12 plus go too.
Once backstroke was finished, the medley was on.
The medley is first freestyle then backstroke and breaststroke.
Once the medley was completed, it was lunch.
The line for lunch orders stretched all the way to the pools.
After lunch, the finals were on  I was on one and two lengths freestyle . and backstroke. I got second place in two lengths freestyle and third place in one length freestyle.   And I came 4th in the backstroke.
